Sworn translation, standard translation or apostille — which do you need?
A translation provides the content in another language. Apostille and legalisation confirm the origin of an official document. You may need both services for the same procedure.
Standard written translation
For information, business and unofficial purposes when the receiving institution does not require sworn certification.
Apostille
Confirms the authenticity of the signature, the capacity of the signatory and the seal on an official document for use abroad. It does not replace a translation.
Legalisation
A separate document-authentication procedure for countries and situations where an apostille does not apply. The process depends on the country and document.
